Welcome to Pearl Singers, the choral heart of Pearl High School. Our program brings together a spectrum of ensembles — from large SATB choirs to elite small groups — offering every interested student a place to grow, sing, and excel. Through rigorous auditioned groups and supportive developing choirs alike, Pearl Singers fosters musical excellence, community, and lifelong appreciation for choral music.
Whether students join one of our major ensembles like the flagship Pearl High School Singers, or perform in more specialized groups such as Chamber Singers, Encore, Women’s Chorus, Men’s Glee, Sextet, or Quartet — we offer challenging repertoire for every voice type and interest. Many ensembles perform SATB, SSAA, or TTBB music; some specialize in Renaissance works, modern treble repertoire, or intimate quartet singing, giving every singer a path toward artistic growth.
Over decades, Pearl Singers has built a legacy of excellence — our ensembles consistently earn high ratings and Best-in-Class honors at district, state, regional, and national festivals. That legacy includes prestigious and historically significant performances on major choral stages. Pearl Singers appeared on the MSACDA/MMEA State Conference stage in 2009, and in back-to-back seasons, both Women’s Chorus (January 2025) and Men’s Glee (November 2025) performed on that same concert stage — an unprecedented accomplishment for any Mississippi high school program. The inclusion of a high school TTBB choir on that stage is itself a historic first. Other distinguished honors include Pearl Singers’ selection to perform at the ACDA Southern Region Conference in Savannah, Georgia in 2009, affirming the program’s reputation for artistic excellence on a regional scale.
What makes Pearl Singers truly special is its long history and generational connection. Founded in the 1970s, the program has been a musical home to singers across multiple generations — with students who now stand on the same stage once shared by their parents and even grandparents. The legacy continues in meaningful ways: several Chamber Singers today perform in Renaissance costumes once worn by their parents during Madrigal productions, symbolizing a living tradition passed from one generation to the next. That shared heritage — voices connected through time, memory, and music — remains a cherished cornerstone of the Pearl Singers identity.
Our commitment to musical outreach and growth extends beyond Pearl, with a robust history of tours and international performances. Recent travels include Scotland and England, where our students performed in historic venues such as St. George’s Tron in Glasgow, St. Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, and in collaboration with the Waldegrave School in London. Past tours across the United States have also brought Pearl Singers onto national stages — experiences that broaden perspectives, deepen musicianship, and create lifelong memories.
At its core, Pearl Singers is more than just a choir program — it is a community. Under dedicated leadership and with support from the Pearl Singers Auxiliary, students, families, and supporters collaborate to sustain and grow the program, ensure meaningful performance experiences, and instill pride, discipline, and musical artistry across generations.
